20th Anniversary Celebration of the
In Defense of Prostitute Women’s Safety Project (IDPWS) & City Proclamation
On March 12th, 2019, a celebration took place in San Francisco City Hall and a proclamation issued for the 20th anniversary of the IDPWS. The gathering was supported by Supervisor Hillary Ronen and about 20 people, including sex workers and other supporters, who came together over refreshments to hear speakers, songs, watch a video, and discuss how the project has helped to change the climate in San Francisco surrounding sex workers’ safety. Newly-updated IDPWS brochures as well as other materials were distributed to participants.
A proclamation was issued by Supervisor Ronen’s office recognizing the contributions of the IDPWS. Following this, Rachel addressed the Board of Supervisors and issued a call to defend women against violence.
